Last August saw the release of our lifestyle magazine, Buzz. The first edition featured an article called ‘Celebrating Wakefield’s Culture’, which explained how the Wakefield Artwalk went virtual in 2020 due to the pandemic and included an exciting photography competition. The brief was as follows: “From rain puddles to windows and mirrors, we see reflections in a variety of ways. These can be intriguing and show a scene we would not normally see or how we would normally see it. Look at the world in a different way and capture one exciting photograph.”
Before Christmas, two of our Art, Design & Media lecturers, Solomon Reynolds and Jane Robertshaw, sat down to compile a shortlist to ultimately pick a winner who would receive a £100 Amazon voucher!
We can now announce that the winner of the competition was Amy Kitchin. Jane commented on the photograph as being, “A beautiful, yet intriguing image in the way it has been photographed, composed and displayed.”
Runners up were Caisha Fieldhouse, Kanwai Hussain and Naomi Fountain. Thank you to everyone who sent us their photographs.
