What will the apprentice be doing?

Throughout this apprenticeship, you will learn how to carry out manufacturing activities on aerosol and roll-on deodorant lines whilst working in a fast-paced environment. You will learn how to follow manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures (SOPS) whilst adhering to safety and quality policies and standards. You will gain knowledge and skills associated with processing, automation, management, safety and quality.

 

By the end of the programme, you will have gained a level 2 qualification in lean manufacturing, you will be a multi-skilled operator having gained hands on experience and earning as you learn.

Other tasks include : -

  • Complete manufacturing tasks following standard operating procedures (SOPS).
  • Maintaining mechanical equipment and machines
  • Run aerosol and roll-on manufacturing lines including, start-up, shut-down, changeover, and handovers of manufacturing process.
  • Undertake continuous improvements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including engineering, quality and safety teams.
  • Run to standards - WCM

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will enrol onto the L2 Lean manufacturing operative. The apprentice will achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) 

Functional Skills English and Maths if required.

Some attendance to Castleford college will be required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Pathway to a role within the Leeds sourcing unit.
