Vocational taster sessions
FLEX VOTE is a highly supported programme designed to improve your confidence, personal and social skills, employability skills, Maths and English as well as an opportunity to sample different vocational tasters. FLEX VOTE will help you to develop the skills you need to progress onto a Level 1 vocational course, a supported internship, traineeship, or apprenticeship. As you will try a range of vocational tasters, this programme will help you decide on your career pathway.
Through lots of different activities, you will be working on gaining self-confidence, developing teamwork skills, and improving your independence.
You will learn by a variety of practical sessions, educational visits and classroom based learning.
The Get SET programme is a work-based learning programme for young people who have had high levels of academic support in school or college. The course focusses on developing independence and employability skills through work experience opportunities.
You will be working with local employers or community groups, and you will be fully supported by a Job Coach. The course will prepare you for employment, supported employment, volunteering or a training programme such as Project SEARCH, Preparation for Work or Apprenticeship.
You will attend classroom sessions where you will complete portfolio work and go out to employers for on-the-job learning. You will be fully supported by your Tutor and Job Coach who will help you set and achieve your personal goals.
You will also attend English and Maths sessions to continue to develop these essential skills.
