What You Will Study
You will study the theory and practice of welding in one of the following:
- Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG)
- Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG)
- Manual Metal Arc Welding (ARC)

Attendance Expectations
You will attend on a Tuesday evening 6.00pm - 9.00pm and Thursday evening 6.00pm to 9.00pm.

How You Will Be Assessed
You will complete five practical welding test pieces. There is also an oral assessment requiring you to answer questions on welding processes and health and safety.

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of City & Guilds Level 1 Welding.
OR
Relevant previous experience.

These fees relate to 2024/25:

Related additional costs may include materials, equipment, visits, residentials etc which are payable by all students.

Further Study
Successful students could progress onto the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Advanced Welding Skills or (employment permitting) NVQ Level 2.
