What You Will Study
You will gain hands-on experience in:
- Health and Safety
- Client Consultation
- Cutting
- Colouring

Styling
You will be assessed not only on your practical skills and your theory
knowledge, but also on punctuality, reliability and professionalism. You will
work and be assessed on live models in readiness for the next level
qualification which, if passed successfully, will enable you to be ‘job ready’
at the end of two years.
As part of this programme you will complete two days per week on work experience in a salon. This may involve travelling some distance and working late evenings where necessary.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3, including English or Maths.
PLUS
Level 2 Hairdressing (VRQ).
Please note: If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.

Further Study
On successful completion, you may choose to progress on to the Level 3 in Hairdressing, subject to the successful completion of this qualification, evidence of progression in English and Maths, a successful interview and reference. Many students also choose an Apprenticeship to earn whilst they learn and continue their studies.
