“The Mechanics’ Theatre feels like home to us doing Performing Arts, everyone is family here. It has a really nice environment with good communal spaces as well as a good reputation. You get to experience everything here equally. I enjoy singing the most; I am given a song each week to learn and perform and receive feedback on. I also get to help with choreographing dances and harmonies.”

“My tutors have industry experience, one having been in a production of Les Misérables. They have really pushed me and helped me a lot with my confidence which has grown so much over the past two years and have helped me accomplish things I thought I’d never be able to do.”

“We love all the projects we work on; one of our class favourites is Godspell – we still sing the songs a year on. We’ve been able to go on trips to see Hamilton and Wicked productions which were both amazing. I am planning to stay at Wakefield College another year to do the Level 4 HNC as I’m attached to the place and not ready to leave! One day I believe I’ll be able to perform at the West End.”

“I absolutely recommend this course to anyone with an interest in musical theatre and acting. At Wakefield, they don’t expect you to know everything straight away, they teach you step by step and encourage you to push yourself further.”
