“I’ve worked in a restaurant before so I knew this course would be great for me as it’s hands-on. I like working in the College restaurant, Gaskell’s, as I enjoy being front of house because you get to meet and speak to lots of customers which gives you a lot of confidence and independence. My tutors also make the lessons fun and are really good at what they do. I’m able to use all the skills they teach me in College at my part-time job in a local restaurant in Wakefield.
“I love to cook curries, bake cheesecakes and experiment with different foods which we get to do a lot. After I finish this course, I want to progress to the Level 2 course and in the future, I’d like to work for an independent restaurant or have my own cheesecake business.”
