“Doing Performing & Production Arts at Wakefield College is enjoyable and freeing. We get lots of independence such as chances to direct and overseeing all the production such as lighting, music and costume.I enjoy building my characters the most and being able to play a variety of roles. My favourite role I have played is one I am working on now, Joey from ‘Road’ by Jim Cartwright. I like to get to know my character and make them human so I’m able to relate to them when I am portraying them stage - I find it very interesting. This year, I have really improved my theoretical work and research processes and I have learnt to pay attention to production skills such as music.”

“My current tutors are the best I’ve ever had - everyone gets along with them, they keep the class engaged and they are very understanding. We have all become close friends in the class.”

“In summer, we get to put on end of year shows for the College and invite friends and family which everyone really enjoys. We’ve also had opportunities to go on class trips to watch pantomimes and plays be performed locally. I want to go to an acting university in the future and secure acting roles in television or film. I also want to keep experimenting with different roles to see what range I have.”
